The “Superstar” Cocktail

adultrushersanonymous:

As you all know, I mix Big Time Rush cocktails. One of my projects is mixing a drink and shot for every song off of Elevate. So far I’ve completed 9 songs, and since tonight is “Elevated Thursday” I bring to you a drink for…

“Superstar”

Who doesn’t want to shine after a crap day? I basically said this in the post for the “Let It Go” shot, but I love this song for that. Partying all night long and taking over the people around you with your presence is something a lot of people yearn for after a long day. Whether or not they have the guts to make it happen is up to them, but this song is perfect for everyone: Let this song make you a superstar, even if you can’t make it happen yourself.

The drink is celebrating a night like this. I added a dash of bitters to represent the long day, pureed starfruit for the superstar inside you, and sparkling berry lemonade for the fizziness of a crazy night and the sweetness of letting it all go. This drink is 2/3 getting lost in the moment and 1/3 knowing you’re better than whatever bad day you had.

The “Superstar” Cocktail
2 1/2 Part Lorina Sparkling French Berry Lemonade
1/3 Cup Pureed Starfruit
1 Part Vodka
Dash of Bitters

Combine all ingredients in a mixer with ice and stir. Pour into a tall glass over ice and garnish with a slice of starfruit. (Note: To puree the starfruit, I used about half a regular sized starfruit cut up into cubes. I then added some of the berry lemonade. Altogether, it was at about 1/4 cup mark on my measuring cup. Blended it came out to exactly 1/3 cup.)

Light up the night with the “Superstar” cocktail…but don’t literally light anything on fire…that could be bad…and possibly arsen.
